It is really cool that some elements of the story are hinted at in the environment instead of just being revealed through text. A lot of the elements in the environment were put there on purpose, rather than just randomly. It also makes me wonder if Princess Peach's stained glass window was there before Bowser attacked. If so, is she some kind of deity? In my mind, we usually see people in stained glass windows in churches, but it could be a monarchy thing as well.
