क्या ब्रह्मांड एक विशाल होलोग्राम है यदि हां | Is the universe a giant hologram If so
Is the universe a giant hologram If so, what does that mean for us?
Since the 1990s, physicists have explored the possibility that our universe isn’t actually three-dimensional at all—that the world around us is more like a giant projection of some kind, rather than something we can reach out and touch. This theory was popularized by physicist Leonard Susskind in 2005, who called it the holographic principle—and it can help us to better understand quantum mechanics and gravity as well as shed some light on why we might exist in the first place. But if our universe really is a giant hologram, what does that mean for you and me?
If you haven’t heard about the holographic principle, it’s essentially the idea that our reality may be nothing more than a giant computer simulation. It was first developed by Leonard Susskind and Gerard ‘t Hooft in 1993 after they discovered an unexpected property of string theory, but many scientists have since begun to come around to the notion that we might indeed live in an illusory matrix of our own creation. But what does that mean? And if it’s true, what might happen as a result?
The idea that the universe is some sort of simulation or hologram has become popular in recent years, including in movies like The Matrix and Christopher Nolan’s latest project, Interstellar. Despite how far-fetched the notion may seem to some, it actually has a few things going for it when you look at the science and math behind it, even if there isn’t any definitive proof of its validity yet. Let’s take a look at what this hypothesis would mean if it turned out to be true and explore whether it’s something you should be concerned about or not.
Section 1
Our brains process reality through pattern recognition
Section 2
Holograms use light waves to store data
Section 3
Reality might be a projection of information stored in light waves
Section 4
Quantum physics shows how things can be here and not here at the same time
Section 5
If our brains use light waves to make sense of the world, maybe they're also part of it
Section 6
What do these ideas suggest about our place in the universe?
