I made bite-sized char siu by rolling up thinly sliced pork belly♪Even with a short simmering time, the flavor is absorbed and the finished product is soft and juicy!

■Ingredients (2 servings)
・10 slices of thinly sliced pork belly
・2 soft-boiled eggs
・10cm long green onion [white part]
・1 tablespoon potato starch
・1 teaspoon salad oil
☆Seasonings
・1 tablespoon sake
・1 tablespoon mirin
・1 tablespoon sugar
・2 tablespoons soy sauce
・1/2 teaspoon grated garlic
・150cc water
■Procedure
(1) Cut the green onion in half, make a vertical cut to remove the core, and slice into thin strips. Soak in water for 5 minutes and drain (with shredded onion).
(2) Sprinkle potato starch on one slice of pork and roll it from the front to the back. Press into a ball to secure the end of the roll. Make a total of 10 pieces in the same way.
(3) Heat salad oil in a frying pan, place the pork with the end of the roll facing down, and cook over medium heat. Once browned, turn the pieces around and cook until browned on all sides.
(4) Add ☆ and bring to a boil, cover with a drop lid and simmer over low heat for 8 minutes. Add the soft-boiled egg, cover with a drop lid again, turn off the heat and leave to cool.
(5) Serve in a bowl and garnish with shredded onion.
