https://www.patreon.com/ulillillia --- The infinite orb glitch is easy to exploit in Jak 3. Before starting, you need at least 4 skull gems, find an applicable mission, and have Dark Jak ready for activation. With that set, you can grind orbs until you have all 600 that exist in the game... and beyond! Here's how to do it - it's quite easy:
Step 1: Charge up Dark Jak enough so that you can activate it. Use the leapers in the village to blast some of the rats to get some dark eco.
Step 2: Find one of those "find that orb in a few seconds" missions. You'll need to trade 4 skull gems for it and you only need to do it once.
Step 3: Save your game twice, first to a backup file in case autosave kicks in so you can resort to it, then to your main file.
Step 4: Get to the orb's location but don't grab it just yet. Instead, stand near it, no more than about 1 1/2 times Jak's height in distance.
Step 5: Hold L2 until Jak gets fully into his ducking position then press start to bring up the wheel menu while still holding L2.
Step 6: Release L2 and choose to restart the mission. If done right, which is guaranteed to work if you have the correct distance from it and don't press L2 upon choosing to restart, Dark Jak will absorb the orb, keeping it.
Step 7: Repeat as often as necessary, best until you gain all 600 orbs... or more if you so choose but there's no further benefit in having more than 600.
The costume change is nothing more than a simple palette swap, from what I can tell. It's not really worth it, but the rewards from the orbs are worth it, well worth it... but it appears that the good stuff doesn't show up until you complete the game, defeating the final boss.
