Jerp plays Loop Hero [demo] - A unique, sort-of Rogue-Lite City/World-Builder? (2021-03-06)
I originally didn't know what to make of this game - I haven't really played anything similar to it, whether it be card games like Dicey Dungeons/Slay the Spire/etc. (still on my todo list) nor much for any sort of auto-battler/etc. (and I'm told this game isn't really much of an auto-battler anyways).
It's interesting to see basically the character/build management and city building aspects of games like Darkest Dungeon and XCOM take focus and let the battles happen automatically. I haven't dug super deep into the game yet but between equipment that gives you counter/vampirism/evasion/etc. and the adjacency/position/etc. bonuses on land tiles, I think there's a lot of depth -- especially visible when taking at streams from players like McQueeb.
I'm liking what I've played so far and I'll probably be loading it back up relatively soon - and it seems demo progress carries over to the full game, so the next upload will just be a pt.2 rather than starting anew.
