Journey to Duna, Part 4
In this episode of my ongoing adventures into deep space, we check out the new Kerbal Space Program version 0.17, the version that has planets other than Kerbin and new moons around those planets. I already visited Eve and its moon Gilly on my own, so for this episode we are traveling to the moon of the mysterious desert planet Duna.
Duna. Arrakis. Desert planet. ;) Just kidding, I don't expect to find any sandworms or spice on Duna, though I would be very pleased to find kethane on its cool moon Ike once I get the kethane plug-in installed. Initially our target was that very moon, Ike, and now we will go to Duna itself if our rockets remain hot and our inertial guidance remains true and our fuel tanks still have reaction mass and our kerbalnauts remain ridiculously and foolhardily brave in the face of yearlong missions in a tin can. ;)
For next time, I might take a breather from exploring new planets and check out the very cool cockpit views on aircraft in the new version, and perhaps take a spaceplane to Minmus so that I can luxuriate in the cockpit view out the bubble canopy.
Afterwards though we begin our epic journey to the gas giant Jool. I am hoping to visit the moon Tylo which I haven't been to yet, and perhaps in a separate mission to the moon Bop on which the corpse of the Space Kraken reputedly resides, but our primary destination will be the ocean moon Laythe.
