Joust for Atari 2600, 5200, and 7800! #2600 #5200 #7800 #retro #retrogaming #retrogame #arcade
Here I present one of my favorite games of all time in three different versions. The Atari 2600 version, Atari 5200 version and the Atari 7800 version. I loved playing this game in the arcade. I learned little tips such as in the later levels where the flaming hand comes out of the lava, if you kill off all the riders except one and get him to get close enough, the rider gets caught by the hand and if you land in the middle bottom platform, after a little while the pterodactyl will come out and rise up to the platform you are standing on. if you are facing him and standing in the middle of that platform, he will charge your lance and you will kill him. Then another will appear from the opposite side. So you turn to the opposite side and kill that one. They will start to appear faster and faster and as it turns out, each kill is worth 1000 points. So you can rack up points quickly if you use that trick!! I don't see that working on the Atari console versions but I might be wrong. At any rate, in this game you are a rider that is Jousting other riders on your ostrich that can fly! You basically just try to survive as long and for as many levels as you can. You can play alone or two player co-op with a friend. The enemy riders are red (slow), gray (a little faster and somewhat smarter) and blue (really fast and will fly up quickly to cut you off). Every so often you will encounter an egg wave where you have to try and run over the eggs that are on screen (floating in the 2600 version for some reason) before they hatch! So grab them quickly or deal with the enemy riders! So sit back, relax and enjoy Joust for the Atari 2600, 5200, and 7800. Please like, comment, and subscribe! And I'll catch you on the next level!
