Karin Futo GTX Customization, Drift Racing Car | Los Santos Tuners Update/DLC | GTA Online
The Karin Futo GTX is a 3-door compact sports liftback featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Los Santos Tuners update. The Futo GTX is primarily based on the 1983-1987 Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) liftback. The Futo GTX is based upon the original Futo, sharing the compact body, flared arches, flared skirts and square tail lights. However, the most noticeable features on the Futo GTX are the smaller grille, the pop-up headlights, the slanted hood area and the hatchback roofline. The interior on Futo GTX is also retained from the original model, also having the "FUTO GT" doorcards and the Futo GTX's name on the tachometer. The Futo GTX has good speed and acceleration, but Futo GTX's strong suit is being able to drift around corners with ease. Like Futo GTX's original counterpart, however, Futo GTX has weak resistance against hard collisions, and Futo GTXs wheels can bend from repeated collisions, which can greatly affect its handling. Competition-wise, Futo GTX doesn't fare well in races due to its tendency in wanting to drift upon turning and is easily outclassed by vehicles with more grip, and Futo GTX's body roll is also noticeable when turning hard. The Karin Futo GTX can be purchase from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $1,718,000 or for $1,192,500 after unlocking its trade price through gaining LS Car Meet Reputation.
8 "drift" variants of vehicles were added in The Chop Shop. These variants are simple performance modifications, similar to Hao's Special Works upgrades, and are classified as separate vehicles in the game files. Drift Tuning cost $200,000 to install and $50,000 to remove. Cusomized cars with Drift Tuning can be used in the seven new Drift Races that were added in The Chop Shop update. These races reward players for continuously drifting, and the player with the most "drift points" wins the race.
In the way that some forty-year-old frat boys only respond to paddles and hardcore splooshing, the Futo GTX needs a firm hand to reach its optimal performance. In fact, it needs less of a driver and more of a disciplinarian. Enter at your at your own risk, and remember: this thing doesn't have a safe word.
