☙ How to add scope and night vision to a weapon using H1EK, Halo 1 Combat Evolved modding tutorial.

The weapon properties of the weapon tag, in this case I am working with the SMG tags I found on halomaps.org here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5583
You will need the H1EK: Guerilla, Sapien, and Tool.
You will also need to know some basics in cmd or command prompt, such as the cd command for change directory.
0:12 - Using Guerilla, I start by copying the shotgun.weapon_hud_interface into another weapon folder. This gives me an already constructed tag to work with, so I can modify it.
0:50 - Check the box 'enables integrated night vision'
1:01 - Set the zoom properties, the number of zoom levels, and the magnification scale
1:11 - Weapon HUD interface, also need to set the zoom-in and zoom-out sounds, I borrowed the sounds from the pistol.weapon tag

3:02 - The 'Sequence index' is an indication of which bitmap to use from a sprite sheet or combined bitmap. In this case, we change the Shotgun's value to the Assault Rifle's value, from 7 to 1, for Static Elements and Meter Elements

4:16 - Crosshair sequence index is set to 0 for Assault Rifle

9:05 - Using sapien, I convert a small multiplayer map into a solo map test area. Make sure to set the game type to 'solo' and the spawn point types to 'none'
9:30 - Using 'Edit types' to add the SMG to the weapon palette for the test scenario tag, adn placing the new weapon in the map editor
10:03 - Using Tool.exe from command prompt to compile the test map
10:38 - In-game test of new modifications to smg.weapon and smg.weapon_hud_interface. Have fun.
