Many are the video game protagonists we as players got to know over decades of gaming; everyone has their favourites, and I have a long list I could share, but in today's video I wish to focus on Kazuma Kiryu, the top name on the list. The Dragon of Dojima is the protagonist of the Yakuza franchise, know now as the Like a Dragon franchise, and his odyssey is a long one, spamming his life from Yakuza 0, to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and beyond to Infinite Wealth. Kiryu is not a saint, the games he is in are beat 'em up after all, but he hold high great values such as compassion, generosity, love, wisdom, and modesty, never declining to help people in need. In fact, he does not only act as a hero by fighting evil, but he is willing to help even the most random of people with the most absurd of problem. In all sub stories he takes part in, he always aims to change the world to people who need help. I highly respect Kiryu and I hope this video essay on him can express well why I consider him to be the perfect protagonist. I hope you will enjoy the video! :)
