How a Demo Saved a Video Game! Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Many are the games that get delayed but some get delayed so much that end up in limbo, with no official release date but no official cancellation of the project. Out of many Inazuma Eleven Vicotry Road was one, a game announced with a different name all the way back in 2016 but never releasing despite the multiple different trailers. Allegedly, Level 5 wanted to cancel the project but one thing let to another and the developers took the daring decision of releasing a public free demo for the game, one that could also be played online. This masterclass of a move resulted in over 500 thousand downloads and single-handedly saving the project for good! The demo itself is great, the gameplay of Inazuma Eleven, a hybrid between a sport football game and an Role Playing Game, works sublimely and I had quite some fun playing well over ten hours of the demo. This is the stellar example of why demos are a much better tool at showcasing how a game will be before release, one that is more efficient than game trailers. I hope you will enjoy the video! :)
