A demo of my finished crew access arm for my Apollo spacecraft+Saturn IB/V launch tower.

The whole arm is manually part welded using stock part models (just the models, not the parts, as this was built in Notepad). It is just one part in the game, and the mass is exactly balanced on the hinge pin. As a result, it moves very easily and smootthly.

The "motor" to retract the arm is a custom-modified sepraton solid rocket motor (a BACC Thumper shrunk to tiny size), without any of the usual sound and visual effects, hidden below the White Room. The thrust and fuel supply have been tuned to move the arm at a slow and steady speed.

The rest of the tower's swing arms will follow later.
