Rafaam has had enough of having his schemes foiled by adventurers and he’s not the only one. Time and time again we’ve faced off against villains and prevailed, but that was them all working alone. Think about what terrible things they could achieve if they pooled together their cunning, intellect and resources for one single, super scheme. Would they be able to pull off feats unimaginable or would the group descend into squabbling and infighting? Will they each get their hearts desire or will one of the inevitably betray the others to further an even more sinister and devious objective they’ve hidden from the others?

You and I both know that at some point it’s all going to unravel, but for now this newly formed team of evil have their sights set on a prize many would think was impossible to claim: Dalaran. It's a good thing that I’ve been drafted into this team, otherwise they’d fall at the first hurdle. The time for goody goodness is over, folks. Let’s start the heist!

The Dalran Heist is the solo content released for Rise of Shadows. It follows the same general format that was introduced in Kobolds and Catacombs with dungeon runs, though there are new things. For one, there are five chapters to go through – the first one being free, the others unlocked either with in-game gold or real money – and each has its own unique challenge. There are also new heroes unique to the heist for whom you can unlock new hero powers and starting decks. There are of course new treasures, a slew of new opponents and friendly encounters where you can further tweak your deck. All in all, I’ve found it to be even more fun than the ones that came before it and did I mention that there’s a heroic mode that’s even harder? Oh my, is it challenging.

For this video, I’m going to begin a run of the first chapter in normal mode with a hero I don’t often pick, mainly because I’m not particularly good with that class. Will I be able to defy my own expectations and succeed? Let’s find out.

Be sure to check by tomorrow to see the conclusion of this run. A link to that video will be placed here when it is uploaded.
