Let’s Play BG2 EE #101: Exploring the Second Floor
97While I’m amazed that our entire party survived that unexpected encounter, we don’t have time to reminisce about it. The way to the second floor is open and we need to clear that place just as we have the first, though the method in which we’ll do so is going to be much different. This is because of the puzzle on the second floor, one that requires an entirely different type of thinking to solve. It’s also a far more dangerous floor in terms of enemies, but that was a given.
The second floor also presents us with a conundrum we’ve faced before: being told to trust someone who you know isn’t trustworthy. The first time this happened we were betrayed and I’m fully expecting it this time too. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be quite happy to let them go if they keep to their end of the bargain, but I suspect they might not want to do that. We have no choice but to go along with their plan no matter what we think of it, for we do need their help to make it to the third floor, so we’ll work towards that and hopefully find some clues on how to defeat the one ‘helping’ us when they inevitably turn on us the moment they’re free. Hope for the best, expect the worst as they say.
