Rafaam has had enough of having his schemes foiled by adventurers and he’s not the only one. Time and time again we’ve faced off against villains and prevailed, but that was them all working alone. Think about what terrible things they could achieve if they pooled together their cunning, intellect and resources for one single, super scheme. Would they be able to pull off feats unimaginable or would the group descend into squabbling and infighting? Will they each get their hearts desire or will one of the inevitably betray the others to further an even more sinister and devious objective they’ve hidden from the others?
We’ve got the basis for a pretty decent deck, but our first treasure wasn’t that amazing. When you’re going up against the final chapter you want to have every advantage you can muster, for the extra encounters won’t be pulling any punches. Then again, there’s no point in picking something aimed at the very final foes if you can’t defeat those before them, so you’ll end up having to compromise. Here’s to hoping that what we have is strong enough to prevail for if we fail now, who knows if the League of E.V.I.L will be able to muster up enough lackeys for a second try- Oh, who are we kidding? We’re but one of countless expendable minions Rafaam and his fellows have at their disposal. One of them bound to succeed even if we fail.
I’ve had a lot of fun going through the chapters of the Dalaran Heist, showing off how it plays and some of the more uncommon and interesting encounters. I may yet return to this at some point – runs of various chapters with different characters or showing off some of heroic – but with the Saviors of Uldum expasion around the corner, it’s time to cast my gaze forward. What treasures will be unearthed in the ancient stands and just what do the League of E.V.I.L intend to do with them? Can anyone stop them and if so, who?
