King's Quest Chapter 5: The Good Knight (PS4) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Sierra Games and The Odd Gentlemen's King's Quest Chapter 5: The Good Knight, the fifth and final full installment of Activision's reboot of the classic Roberta Williams PC series, released 10/2016.
I really enjoyed this final chapter to the King's Quest reboot. It's still got the humor, but it's a lot more muted than it has been in previous installments, and the tone becomes far more poignant and melancholic as King Graham faces his own mortality. I don't want to say too much more about it - I'd hate to rob of its impact for anyone that wants to find out for themselves.
I will say, though, that the far more direct references to the original games was done perfectly here - there is a LOT of fan-service being paid, especially when the game kicks a few Metal Gear Solid 4-ending style flashbacks at you. The whole package is a cool, extremely respectful way of tipping the metaphorical adventurer's cap to King Graham's life and to those that followed him every step of the way over the past 22 years.
I can't wait to see what the epilogue brings when it releases next month.
