Episode 9 is the Entangled Castle, a big winding castle that features a few looping paths that lead back to the courtyard you start at. Using the Gretchen special attack exploit... I guess I'll just call it "phasing" from now on... you can breach the main doors and get into the castle from a different direction and earlier than intended.

0:40 - however, you teleport after stepping in through the doors to the castle and start from a wrong entrance. Must be the cutscene that triggers inside the castle which does that to our heroes. Even so, it's not too big a drawback, and you still overall skip around 6 fights and a rudimentary switch puzzle by doing this. (Several minutes of time save.)

1:13 - a bonus clip that shows some wasted potential. You could skip a big chunk later in the level as well if you could get past this fenced doorway early. Well, to be more precise, YOU can... but so far there is no way of getting Gretchen through as well. The door has no prompts on either side until the fence has been powered up.

The thought of beating the last fight of the level with Heinrich alone in a strict time limit is daunting. Maybe not impossible on easiest mode, but still pretty unpleasant. I'll consider it wasted potential for now, until it becomes more relevant to test again...

Edit: you can't open the last door without Gretchen around, so you absolutely have to get Gretchen to the last area. Until then, this skip is simply an impossibility...

(Not on the vid: there is another time save in this level, and it's when rescuing Minukelsus. You don't have to go through the loop to reach him if you can just kill the spiders efficiently enough from the lobby, most likely using the Spear magic. Something to consider for NG+ at least.)
