The first floor of the cave doesn't have any monsters, but one of the soldiers is traumatized by something lurking in the underground floors. At the top of the hill, Timal chews out Kaan for not getting Ragno to join the fight, since doing so would have united the tribes. At this point, you have a choice: admit your mistake or insist you're unbeatable. The first choice will result in Timal joining the party. The second choice will result in Jomal leaving the party and Kaan gaining Jomal's row-changing skills. I picked the first choice, though Jomal admits this is OOC for Kaan.
In order to unlock MAGIC, you need to fight the soldiers parked in front of the cave. Mila will then gain access to her spells and move to R3. She has one offensive AOE skill that costs HP, so be ready to heal afterwards.
In the cave basement, you'll find lore about how the sun destroyed a corrupt kingdom.

It starts in R2, but will fall quickly in R1.

It starts in R3 and has powerful spells, so you may want to move it.
Once you try to read the bookshelf, you be confronted by Knowledge, a member of the Fallen cultists.
[ 1:01:24 ] Boss: Knowledge
He has two minions, who can use an aggro skill to prevent you from targeting the boss. Once the boss is damaged enough, he'll inflict a powerful poison-like status effect that persists after battle and can only be cured by an Ultima Potion. Fortunately, the boss also drops a key to open the chest containing that potion.
