This is a playthrough using Vanessa and Seth in the PS2 version of The King of Fighters: Neowave. Read on below for more information...

Vanessa is a hidden-but-immediately-available character; and Seth is a hidden unlockable character.

NOTE: Max gauge used for this playthrough. It is a feature you can enable within the Game Option screen.

===== HOW TO SELECT VANESSA =====

On the character select screen: Highlight Whip and hold R1. Vanessa will appear whenever R1 is held on Whip. Therefore with R1 held, press any attack button to select Vanessa.

===== HOW TO SELECT SETH =====

1) Defeat 47 opponents in Endless Mode. This also unlocks the other hidden characters and Gallery pictures as well.

2) On the character select screen: Highlight Shingo and hold R1. Seth will appear whenever R1 is held on Shingo. Therefore with R1 held, press any attack button to select Seth.

===== ABOUT VANESSA =====

Pretty much the same deal as in KOF2002. A boxer with an assortment of decent punching moves, has a Dash Upper style special move that is not dissimilar to Balrog's. She likes to jokingly respond to Ramon's "flirtations" by teasing him, and also discouraging him because she is married.

===== ABOUT SETH =====

Probably the same as in KOF2002. Special moves include a headstomp and a diving kick that is kind of like Shadowgeist's ones in SFEX. Also has several counter moves, one of which is his Max Desperation Move.

---- Vanessa appears as a hidden character in all versions of the game.

---- Seth appears as a hidden character in all the console ports of the game.

---- They do not appear as opponents in the regular single-player modes of the game.

---- Vanessa and Seth's first appearances in the KOF series was in KOF'99 Evolution (for the Dreamcast), as Striker characters.

---- Vanessa was originally planned to appear as a playable character in KOF'99, but didn't make the cut due to time constraints.

---- In the lore, Ramon has the hots for Vanessa.

---- The game's character artwork was produced by Tomokazu Nakano, who had produced artwork for the Power Instinct games.

===== ABOUT KOF NEOWAVE =====

The game is basically a drastically altered version of KOF2002 with many different and extra features, one of the most significant being the inclusion of an all-new AOF2 version of Geese Howard as the game's end boss. Neowave is a Dream Match, meaning that it is non-canonical and not counted in the new numeral progression of the series, which KOFXI started. The game was developed specifically to test the Atomiswave hardware.
