KSP: British Moon Shot #2
Given the strapped financial condition of Britain after WWII, it would probably have been unwise for them to have joined in the US/USSR Space Race and attempted to get to the Moon. But could they have? We are creating a scenario where the UK attempts to put together a moon rocket in space from parts which weigh no more than an early generation Soviet R7 could lift into orbit, 1.327 metric tons, the payload capacity of the rocket that lifted Sputnik 3 into orbit.
With our piecemeal rocket assembled in orbit and with grave concerns as to our fuel supply, the first British rocket to the Moon sets out. Will Jebediah Kerman hereafter be referred to as Sir Jebediah, or will he be stranded in the cold expanse of space? Stay tuned for the exciting and rather dicey conclusion to KSP: British Moon Shot.
