Late-Game Minecraft 285 :: Seven Spawning Floors Completed
Our mob farm is almost functional! Today we build the sixth and the seventh floors for the spawning of mobs. We also replace the dark blue carpet below the drop shaft for the drowned with a cyan carpet, as the cyan colour more closely resembles that of a drowned zombie!
First, we fly over to the giant spruce tree to chop it down! Bringing the wood back to our chests, we craft 120 trapdoors and 16 fence gates. We plant down the spruce saplings before shearing the sheep! With some cyan wool, we craft some cyan carpet blocks!
Flying over to the ocean, we pick up the floating spruce saplings! Taking our shears from the barrel, we also collect some honeycomb from the beehives. Then, we head to the mob farm and cover up the hoppers with the trapdoors! Switching the blue carpet with the cyan one, we sleep for the night as it is getting dark.
In the morning, we fly out to the sheep pen and keep the blue carpet! Then, we start placing the trapdoors for the sixth spawning floor. These trapdoors control the water flushing mechanism! We open the trapdoors before adding water to them.
Flying up to the storage chests, we craft some redstone repeaters for the circuit that controls the flushing! We hook up all the trapdoors to the redstone torch tower before trying to flip the switch to test it out. Instead, we fall to the bottom of the shaft where we find some slimes!
After slaying the slimes, we fly back up to the room with the redstone clock! We tinker with the switches to activate the trapdoors manually. Returning to the sixth floor, we see that the trapdoors have all opened! We craft some stone bricks and place them on the trapdoors to block off the redstone.
Placing trapdoors on the stone bricks helps to prevent spiders from climbing the walls and staying on the floors! Afterwards, we place down the smooth stone for the seventh spawning floor! Just before we complete the floor, we place our bed down to sleep as the sky is turning dark!
Once the seventh floor is done, we craft some spruce fence gates for the centre hole! We place them in the same orientation as the gates on the lower floors. Then, we place some torches on the walls to light up the tunnels for the redstone wiring!
We cover up the sixth floor completely with smooth stone along the perimeter! With some chiseled stone bricks, we bring the redstone torch tower up to the seventh floor. We place some stone bricks at the corners before flying back to the front of the deepslate base!
At our chests, we craft more trapdoors! We also keep our moss blocks and azaleas to empty our Shulker box. We head to the small farm by the coast to harvest some wheat! Then, we collect the smooth stone from our furnaces.
Looking at the amount of smooth stone that we have, we are not sure whether we will have enough for completing the mob farm! Just in case we don't, we fly across the river for more stacks of stone to place into the furnaces. While adding fuel to all the furnaces, we accidentally use the trapdoors instead! Oops!
We craft another trapdoor to replace the one that we had burnt up in the furnace, then fly up to the tall spruce tree to chop it down! Wood is another material we will need to complete our mob farm, since we are using so much of it to craft trapdoors and fence gates!
Hearing trident sounds in the water, we dive into the ocean to slay the drowned! We craft the wood into trapdoors and return to the mob farm construction site. After placing some water down, we head to the ocean to scoop up another bucket!
The sky turns dark as we place down the trapdoors! After sleeping, we place the rest of the trapdoors, open them and fill them with water! Then, we complete the redstone circuit for the seventh spawning floor! We cover the water channel with stone bricks before placing more trapdoors.
Flying up to the sky, we get a bird's-eye view of the entire mob farm! We try flipping the switch for all the odd-numbered floors and see that our redstone works. After digging out some grass near the surface to extend the scaffolding column, we end the episode!
