The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was released between November 19th and December 19th, 2006, for the Nintendo Wii and Gamecube. Its music was composed by Toru Minegishi, Asuka Ohta, and Koji Kondo.

Sacred Grove is a bit of a study in vertical reorchestration. Depending on the context (are there enemies around, is the brass playing skull kid around, etc.), the music changes. Here, I arranged based on the version of the OST which goes through the theme three times, each time adding one new piece of context. Without enemies around, there's an air of mystery and solitude. However, foes and the skull kid force you to pay attention, and this happens musically as well. The dissonant voices take over the aural spectrum and almost seem to get in the way of everything else, with the skull kid trumping all. Hopefully, that all comes through here as well.

By far the trickiest part was the skull kid's playing of the theme. It somehow merges robotic sounds with a stilted nature, both of which I tried to capture with the slide trumpet. To facilitate good listening however, I erred on the side of coherence.
