Standard will always be a highly volatile aggressive tempo slug fest. It doesn't really matter if the best deck is Elder Dragon Gallio, Lurk, or Frostbite Midrange, or Elusive Spam.

If Elder Dragon Gallio gets nerfed Elder Dragon Shivanna will take it's place because in standard the cards and synergies don't matter its just beef and tempo.

However if the true potential of these new champs get murdered before Eternal season get's released the true high synergy brews will never get the chance to test themselves against the best decks in the game and that's bad from a champ design perspective.

I want to know can Elder Dragon beat Ryze, or Thresh Nasus, or Azir Irelia. How about Morganna, or Mordakaizer, again at the end of the day standard unbalance will always be the face of the format. While the cool decks get to jam out in Eternal and I think the devs are cognisant of that.
