LEGO Ninjago Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon - Unboxing, Speed Build & Review - 70617
Hi LEGO fans! Check out my LEGO Ninjago Movie Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon review. I unbox LEGO's 70617 set followed by a 90 second LEGO speed build, then show off all the cool features and Ninjago minifigures in a full LEGO Ninjago review. This is the third largest current Ninjago Movie LEGO set with 1,403 pieces (only Ninjago City and Destiny's Bounty are bigger). Included in the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon piece count are seven Ninjago minifigures including Kai, Nya, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and Jay in their Ninja suits complete with their everyday casual hairstyles. We also get a Garmadon minifigure with 4 arms dressed in a jungle outfit, making him Jungle Garmadon.
I wasn't excited about the actual Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon but the Ninjago minifigures really appealed to me and it was great to get Kai, Nya, Cole, Zane, Lloyd and Jay in a single Ninjago Movie set finally. The Temple is a surprisingly good LEGO Ninjago build and quite big, standing 15 inches wide and 19 inches tall. Japanese architectural features are in abundance but the fun starts when you spin the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon around, revealing a host of fun interactive LEGO play features.
The Ninjago Temple has a secret entrance located in the rocky foundations allowing the Ninjas to sneak in through the basement. That secret entrance is needed because inside the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon are many traps designed to keep Lloyd, Kai and the team out. Inside the Temple's entrance hall is a trap door immediately followed by a falling rock trap which really does scatter the minifigures (I demonstrate all of these features in this Ninjago review video). There is also a Japanese scroll room with hidden disc shooter to knock any unwanted guests off their feet and a box of TNT that can be dropped on the heads of any unwanted visitors. This is truly a very cool LEGO set!
Other features include a very alive looking statue, a chest full of Ninja throwing stars and a dungeon beneath the Ninjago temple. Not only do we get seven great Ninjago minifigs and a cool LEGO temple playset, there's also two temple guardian builds which each stand 3 inches high and make a great addition to this Ninjago Movie set. Each guardian is identical and comes with fully articulated head, neck and front and rear legs.
Each of the Ninjago minifigures comes with their signature weapons, including Kai’s 2 katanas, Nya’s tasseled spear, Cole’s hammer, Zane’s bow and arrow, Lloyd’s Chinese tasseled sword, Jay's chain with spike and Jungle Garmadon's 4 swords.
Even with a suggested retail price of $99.99 US, this Ninjago set really delivers a lot for the money and comes highly recommended. I was able to get mine discounted further to $80 at Toys R Us so overall, I think I got a great deal on LEGO's Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon.
