🎯 Lethal Weapon (Famiclone Bootleg, 1994) – Lethal Enforcers Demake | RS3 Reaper Lightgun Gameplay
Lethal Weapon is an unlicensed 1994 light-gun shooter for Famicom clone systems, credited to “Go Go” (aka Aoji Go Go). Despite the misleading name, this pirate game is actually a demake of Konami’s arcade hit Lethal Enforcers—not the Ocean NES platformer based on the movie. Released only on pirate cartridges for Dendy and Micro Genius markets, it’s one of the wildest and most ambitious Zapper-style shooters ever made.
My good buddy Lee from Lightgun Legends brought this one to my attention! I played it using my RetroShooter RS3 Reaper lightguns, and surprisingly, it works great. Experiencing this rare bootleg through authentic-style aiming felt like rediscovering a forgotten slice of gaming history.
Gameplay is simple but tense: you wield a six-shot revolver, reloading by shooting off-screen. A health bar drops when hit or when you shoot civilians. Instead of a linear campaign, you pick from themed missions like shooting range, car chase, bank heist, subway, airport, and factory—each capped with boss encounters. Unlike most Zapper games, there’s no scoring system, which gives it a strangely cinematic flow.
Here’s some neat trivia worthy of mention:
✅ The game’s Zapper tech uses vertical (Y-axis) tracking with sweeping hit detection—a feature once thought unique to Strike Wolf until later rediscovered here.
✅ It runs on a pirate cartridge board called UNL-TF1201, mapped as NES 2.0 Mapper 298.
✅ Pirate labels varied: revolver photo collage, Dendy screenshot sticker, or a flashy gold-bordered illustration.
✅ It’s often mislabeled “Lethal Enforcers” in ROM dumps. Most copies surfaced in Russia, China, and South America during the 1990s.
✅ Best emulation comes from FCEUX or puNES, as they properly replicate the game’s unique Zapper behavior. Nestopia struggles with accuracy here.
