It’s only a matter of time before we reach the soldiers sent into the facility but the closer we reach them, the more I begin to question whether they’re actually here to evacuate us out. Call me paranoid, but I get the feeling that they might be trying to make sure that nobody gets out alive at all. It may be the way that the Black Mesa announcements were replaced by eerie, emotionless military ones that are laden with ominous foreshadowing or it could be that we’re suddenly coming across security measures that you wouldn’t typically find in a research laboratory and are tuned specifically towards killing us.

It could also be the fact that I’ve played the original Half-Life and that I’ve let’s played Opposing Force and Blue Shift before this game but even without such spoilers, it’s very clear that something is off with the so-called saviours that have are on their way to meet us. We should be cautious, trust only those that we know and keep our shotgun handy, for you never know when we might be in a whole lot new mess of trouble.
