Let’s Replay Trine 2 w/ Alienkabalien #14: The Plot Twist we all saw Coming
45You may be wondering what could possibly be so important that it’s hidden all the way at the end of this super long and hazardous passage, one littered with acid traps, monsters and bottomless pits of doom. The age old trope of hiding something super important in a place so dangerous that no-one but the most brave or foolhardy adventurer would dare to try explore it is very much alive and well in this game, though in this case we’re a trio of adventurers with a flying McGuffin and unlimited resurrections via magic orbs on our side.
While I won’t expressly say here what we’ll discover at the end of this passageway, I don’t think I need to. The game has done a great job of foreshadowing it enough that only those who have missed every single optional treasure chest along with skipping every cutscene won’t know what’s going on. It may not be the most original of twists but that doesn’t matter so long as the story is told well and let me assure you, this is a greatly told story indeed. Whether it’ll have a happy ending or not depends on if me and Alienkabalien can reach the end and ensure that happens.
