Let’s Replay Trine 2 w/ Alienkabalien #13: The Game Gets Serious
With our arrival at the Eldritch Passages, we’ve truly reached the endgame. This means, among other things, that we’re close to uncovering what truly went on between Rosabel and Isabel. This is also the time when the game stops messing around and starts throwing truly difficult puzzles at you, ones that you can’t reliably brute force with boxes and planks. If we’re going to make steady progress, we’re going to have to actually solve the puzzles the way they were intended to be solved… well, mostly. One can often stumble across unconventional solutions by pure accident but if they work, they work.
One thing I will mention here is that the game doesn’t actually have that many bosses. There was the serpent at the very beginning and a few encounters with very large goblins. You could argue that the foes with flaming swords are mini bosses but they don’t pack the oomph that the true boss encounters possess. You could argue that the most devious puzzles are the true boss encounters of the game but they’re usually placed very close to respawn points, allowing you unlimited attempts to succeed without any need to travel back to the point of the puzzle. There’s still one more boss to go before the game is done and trust me, you’ll know it when we see it.
