This is a blind playthrough of the game. As such, please avoid posting puzzle solutions or plot spoilers, so as to not spoil the experience for me or other viewers who haven’t played the game.

Kikoskia and Kaeris have half of the amulet they need to breach the wards of the Black Citadel and confront the villain within. A seemingly endless horde of monsters between them and the other half, but none of them can withstand Kaeris’s magical might. Many questions remain unanswered however: just who is the villain spreading the wastes? Why are they doing it and under whose orders? Where did they get the power to do this and, most importantly, are we strong enough to stop them?

Already the game is building up the tension as we inch closer and closer to our encounter in the Black Citadel. This means that we’re either about to have our final confrontation or the narrative is trying to deceive us into thinking that that will happen. I’ve played enough RPGs in my time to know that it’s likely not the former, which means that something bad is going to happen when we go toe-to-toe with the as-yet unmasked villain of the plot. Many are the terrible outcomes but when I think about the one which would be most cliché…

...Nah, they wouldn’t do that. It’s not like the game has been telegraphing it blatantly for a long time, giving you plenty of warning that the inevitable was about to occur. I’m sure we’ll just get beaten up a bit and mocked before the villain whooshes off to the true final dungeon and nothing else.

Yup. Nothing else at all.
