I continue my factory base in Factorio with automating the making of Science Pack 1 (Red Science). This is needed for all the early research. I built 4 Labs which consume the Science Pack 1s to speed up research by 4x. Science Pack 1s require 1 copper plate and 1 iron gear wheel (the wheel is made from 2 iron plates). This all requires a steady supply of copper plates and iron plates.

I built a very small automated iron ore mining operation using electric mining drills. The ore is sent to stone furnace (and later steel furnaces). These furnaces consume their own coal and output iron plate to our transport belt system.
