Let's Play Fallout 1! It's a post-nuclear RPG with big guns (but I don't have any yet) and choices and consequences. In this playthrough, I make inane choices, chasing after short-term profit and have to deal with the fallout. Get it? FALLOUT? Because the game's name is fallout? Hahahaha!

Okay, bad pun, but Fallout's gameplay is no joke! This isn't Fallout 3, after all. Fallout 1 is preeminent crpg. Attributes matter, perks can make or break a character, and behaving like an asshole means people will treat you like one. In a post-apocalyptic world, that usually means you'll end up on the wrong end of a gun. Luckily, my character is a specialist in shooting people, so acting like an asshole is normally quite fruitful. Look at all that loot and money I got from robbing the Friendly Lending Company.

Moving on, this is a Let's Play and sometimes walkthrough of Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role Playing Game AKA Fallout, or Fallout 1. If you're familiar with Fallout 3, the third installment in the series, know that this game is quite different. It has a sort of "isometric perspective" (not exactly but you know what I mean), and turn-based combat. There is a story involved about going out into the post-apocalyptic wasteland to find a water chip and save the people of your underground vault (a giant bomb shelter) from thirst. But this run focuses more on the gameplay and shooting things and whatnot.

In this episode I kill a loan shark and take his money, and then go on to the Maltese Falcon to take a job. Decker wants me to murder a merchant called Hightower, who lives in the heights but I have other plans. I report him to the sheriff (The Hub has a police department), and we work together to take down the crime lord and his goons. Sound familiar? It's very similar to what we did with Killian and Gizmo. Guess the game developers over at Black Isle and Interplay ran out of ideas. Not that the Hub is a bad location or that Fallout is a bad game. They're both pretty great.
