What playthrough of Fallout would be complete without Super Mutants? In this episode of Let's Play Fallout 1, we jump right in and walk, like, 2 steps ahead of where we ended the last one. And there's a Super Mutant.

So as you can imagine from how this Fallout LP has been going far, there as a boss Super Mutant that we can talk to. His name is Harry and he's a little thick in the head. There are lore reasons for this-- something about radiation and FEV not playing nicely with each other, but we aren't supposed to know that just yet.

So we talk to Harry because the game forces you to do so and he has a talking head, so why not? He immediately recognizes that I'm not a ghoul. Considering we're in Necropolis, city of ghouls, it's not hard to make out the difference. Then again this is a character with only 2 Charisma so may be I should be giving Harry the "special" Super Mutant a break. Turns out Harry's only the boss of the Super Mutants in our general vicinity. He has a real boss, who I imagine is the boss of all the Super Mutants in Fallout. Well, Fallout 1 anyway. I don't think he shows up in any other Fallout game. So we murder Harry with a shotgun. Luckily he was using a laser rifle, and I was wearing metal armor, which has increased protection against laser attacks due to its reflective nature.

Afterwards, we proceed down into the vault and retrieve ourselves a Water Chip. Effectively killing all the inhabitants of Necropolis in the process. But they're just ghouls, right? And we're doing it to save our people. Whoa a moral dilemma in Fallout? Who'd have thought? Water Chip in hand, the game looks almost over! Nextime we'll return to Valut 13 and become a hero!
