Despite my frustration, this is not that bad of a fight. My issue is just my awful luck with the random number generator.
Elmdor's demon form is actually much easier to deal with than his human form. He does not have Blade Grasp and instead has a chance of gaining Faith whenever he takes damage. He can fly and generally sticks with powerful Sage spells for offense. With Ramza's insane damage, he can go down rather quickly as well.
The catch is dealing with the five undead opponents. The three skeletons apparently match your level which makes them even stronger. The two death knights are also a pain with their small chances of causing Undead or Blood Suck. Due to undead creatures being able to reraise themselves, you are stuck juggling reviving dead guys while pumping damage into the demon boss.
Meliadoul is here as well and she is slightly nerfed as she only has a Defender equiped instead of Save the Queen. Also, her break abilities are useless against the boss and the three skeletons due to not having gear. She does know item at least and can act as guest bait throughout the battle.
