Our mysterious ally wasn't alone: KK had a crew looking into weird spiritual stuff before this happened, and they've set things up to help us. Our masked nemesis has given us the slip for now, but the city and our objectives open up in a big way from here. Broadly speaking, we have to rescue lost souls through the use of paper dolls and phone booths (long story); along the way we defeat hostile youkai known as Visitors, and clear mist from the city by purging corrupted Torii gates. Fortunately, Akito seems to have missed his calling as a Shinto priest and takes to these activities quickly.

We also hit some sidequests, which make it clear that supernatural activity was happening before all this began. But best of all, Green Bay lost to San Francisco in a last-minute interception. HOW'S IT FEEL PULLING A FAVRE, JORDAN LOVE?! HOW DOES IT FEEL?!?!

(Look, I'm a Chicago guy; all I have to root for is chaos at this point. Don't take that from me, man.)
