After what seems like a near century wait (it was really only about 5 years), the newest Make A Good Mega Man Level (MAGMML for short) has been released! I've decided to get on this as soon as possible before I start getting spoiled on the entries. I'll be playing through the levels and reading the reviews along the way and giving some thoughts on each of the levels in the description. Feel free to follow along...

Plataform Hijinks - No really, that's how the level is spelt. Forgettable level, it used its gimmicks well, but it definitely feels like a level that would be more at home in 48hr.

Evil Energy Facility - I don't know why this got a skip. It's not THAT hard. To each their own. Maybe they based it on no weapon usage. Anyway, the level itself is pretty good. The enemies could be a little slower firing their shots. I like the mutation gimmick, but it would've been cool to see it on more enemies.

Wily's Haunted Castle - This stage was great. It used its gimmicks exceptionally well, great music and it did something I didn't think would be possible; made a capsule fight fun. ::golfclap::

wet - Greatest stage name ever. This would be much higher if it wasn't for the time penalty and deservedly so. It was such a silly stage. There was one frustrating part in it, but it never felt unfair. The boss is a hoot as well. Shame about the time penalty.

Cloud Nine - I'm not a fan of Air Man's stage in MM2. I find it tedious and annoying. This one is much better as instead of using the cloud enemies and Tikitiki as it's main gimmick, it uses the faces on the platforms. If they are smiling, then you fall through them (complete with laughter). When the Cloud Masters (?) and the TikiTiki do show up, they aren't overused to the point where it is not fun. Bravo.

Abandoned Mine - I do like people's attempts to change up the gameplay. Funny how something like this is allowed, but other levels that were excluded, that also changed things, were thrown out. Idk. It's a fun change of pace though, much needed considering the 100s of other levels in the game.

Magmatic Panic - Instant death mechanics! Yay! How Evil Energy Facility got a skip and this didn't is lost on me. Not my favorite level. Maybe there was stuff I was missing and making it harder on myself. Regardless, there is no reason this should've placed so high.

Cursed Darkness - This level is fine except for one glaring problem. You need to beat it without dying in order to 100% it. Like Crash Bandicoot. Difference is that with Crash, doing things in some stages make other stages easier... you'd get a gem in another stage, that might make a few jumps in the stage easier. You don't get that here, you are just expected to keep starting over until you beat it. It could be done eventually, but in a game this large, no one is going to have time for that, and its unfair to ask someone to do it. Doesn't matter how good a level is (it was okay), that kind of nonsense keeps me from really enjoying it.

Robogarden - Plantman 2.0. It's there, nothing to write home about. At least it uses different gimmicks from Plantman. Plantman on a jetpack was also a hoot.

Crest Man - OMG! This level has so much charm! I loved this stage. The it was great with the plaque teeth and having infinite Water Shield made it laugh. Then the toothpaste game in and I instantly feel in love. It is used exceptionally well too. I would've loved to see Crest Man do more than be a Bubble Man clone, but I know coding a custom boss can be tough and considering all the other effort put into this, I can forgive it. This one will stick with me for a while, like plaque on an unwashed tooth.

Flamboyant Castle - I'm not entirely sure where this level was trying to go. The enemy set is nice, the gimmicks are good, the music is catchy, the aesthetics are pretty... but something felt, off. It is tough to explain, it's like someone had all the ingredients for a delicious cake, but instead made boxed cake and tried to pass it off as there's. Sure, cake is delicious no matter what, but you couldn't help but think how the other one would've tasted. Good level, but I feel like it could of been so much more.
