2We move on to the second half of World 2, starting off with 2-4/Parched Plateau 4. It's similar to 2-1, but with a few new obstacles and enemies (mainly quicksand, Boomerang Bros., and Volcano Lotuses). Parched Plateau 5/2-5 is where things get tricky...this level isn't nearly as straightforward as the others. It's easy enough to get through, but it's the first one where there isn't just one straight path to the goal; you must use P-Switches to progress to the next room. Kind of a labyrinth in a pyramid, if you will. After that is the castle, where we find Ludwig holed up and guarded by lots of lava (of course), Ball 'n' Chains, falling platforms, and auto-scroll. The boss himself shoots...musical notes? Yeah. He shoots notes at Mario, which either go straight or bounce. Upon defeating him, we complete the second world of the game.
