Let's Play Mega Man 2.5D - #3: Tornado of Death
5In this part, I complete Quick Man's and Tornado Man's stages using Mega Man. I also collect the missing O letter in the latter half of Splash Woman's stage.
Quick Man's stage was relatively decent. I did like how the increased screen width made it easier to dodge the force beams. The gimmicks and enemies weren't too difficult to dispatch. Even though I died a few times, I didn't feel frustrated at the pacing of difficulty.
Tornado Man's stage on the other hand, easily became the hardest and most frustrating stage in the game for me. Only one other stage came close in terms of frustration (which will be shown in the next part). I suppose part of the reason behind this was due to me selecting Hard mode.
The primary issue with this stage came about because of one of its primary gimmicks: the circular-spinning battery-like moving platforms. These were always placed over bottomless pits. Combined with certain enemy placements, and later rain showers and spikes, this proved to be the largest challenge for me to overcome. As I said before, I'm not that good with high precision-based challenges like this one. I ended up dying at least 12 times in this level alone. The battle against Tornado Man was far easier than the stage before him.
Collecting the O letter also resulted in me dying 8 times due to the precision involved. In fact, the raw footage for this part exceeded an hour.
Thankfully, the Wily stages afterward did become easier.
