Let's Play Mega Man X7 Part 2
1Time to start taking on the Maverick stages. First up is Soldier Stonekong. This is probably the least offensive of all the stages in the game. For some reason,they decided to keep the rescuing Reploid mechanic from X6. So the same deal applies here,you either rescue them or they're hit by an enemy attack and gone forever. Rescuing them gets you stuff like Health or Weapon Energy+,or even power-up chips to enhance your character's parameters. You can use Axl's Copy Shot on the rock-throwing Reploids in this level,just takes a while since they have a lot of HP. They allow Axl to safely walk on spikes in this form,useful for finding some Reploids. X's Glide Leg Armor capsule can be found in this stage,but I already have all 4 parts since this is NG+. Near the end of the stage,Zero can double jump off a statue to reach the EX Tank. Soldier Stonekong attacks by throwing his shield at you or trying to run into you. He can also toss a boulder that splits in half across the stage,but Zero can double jump to avoid it. Next Maverick we're taking on is Tornado Tonion. All you have to do in this stage is keep going right,since you're climbing a tower. All of the Reploids you can rescue will appear right in front of you for the most part,so you can't miss 'em. You'll have to dodge the attacks of the giant crab mechaniloid in the first half of the stage,then you'll face it as a miniboss. Only X or Axl can deal damage to it's face though. in the 2nd half of the stage,Axl can copy the Reploids that create barriers,but it's not that useful here. You'll have to be quick to save some of the Reploids in time. Tornado Tonion will start the fight chasing after you. Using Zero's Gokumonken technique,you'll counter and hurt him with this attack when he tries to run into you. He can also spin around while firing parts of his body at you,create a thunder tornado around him,and try to hit you with his body armor like a sword. Just keep your distance and blast him with Axl and he'll eventually go down.
