The Long Journey Home gameplay is one of those space exploration adventure games with a lot of different styles bolted together - including top-down flight around solar systems, Lunar Lander-style arcade sections where you need to land on a planet to start mining, text-driven encounters with aliens, trading at space stations while learning the various quirks of each alien race, and an overall roguelike feel where every game seed will lead to a different universe and a different set of potential experiences.
In this let's play The Long Journey Home gameplay video, we play the first 45 minutes of a mission, experiencing meetings with three alien races, chasing down a runaway probe, getting tossed around by high winds, attempting to probe space station traders for useful gossip, and discovering how we can either follow or subvert side-missions to our advantage!
