The Starghosts seem pretty much intent on rendering the entire planet an inhospitable biomass desert. Perhaps they are able to live in the biomass unaffected by the pillars and their effects but we most certainly can't. It's a good thing that the people in our territories notice pretty quickly when they're erecting a pillar but then again maybe they're not that subtle about it.

I doubt they go about broadcasting it on a PA however. I've now got the image of Starghost hovers floating around distributing leaflets for their upcoming construction plans. It's a very silly thought but just imagine if that actually happened eh?
