Let's Play Ys 8 Episode 3: First Dungeon WOOT
0In this episode we do what the title suggests and enter our first dungeon of the game.
Waterdrop cave is very basic being only one layer and having a few items. It's Mostly just here to get you geared up. I made a point to show the rusty sword compared to the short sword to show it isn't just a cosmetic change. Most dungeons in this game are going to be a fair bit longer and more complex but this one is here to ease you in and there's nothing wrong with that.
We also got some leather armor which is pretty meh later on but for now will help save our lives.
There's only two enemy type here and they are either weak to slash or thrust attacks to get you used to using Laxia and Adol for combat.
At the end of the dungeon we encounter our first boss Byfteriza. He's a very basic fight that telegraphs all his attacks a week in advance. His most dangerous attack is his sonic voice because that can do a lot of damage if you aren't prepared for it.
After the fight we'll find the captain and now we have an objective. Map out the island and look for survivors as we prepare our escape.
Since the video was a bit short I decided to run along the coastline to the next warp crystal. I feel like at some point in time those were going to be save points but then they decided just let the player save wherever.
I cut the video where I did because the next sequence of game is very long and those that have played this game know exactly what's coming up.
