Welcome to part 1 of my playthrough of Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders!

Have you ever wanted a point and click adventure game with so many verbs that you need keyboard shortcuts to navigate them successfully? What about multiple fail states? How about effectively zero sign-posting on what you're supposed to do next? If you said "yes" to any of these questions, you're a masochist and I am concerned for you. With that said: Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders may be for you!

Originally released in 1987, this is a certified classic and I mean that in the good and the bad ways. It's very much a point and click adventure game, but it's an old one. It has all the verbs: more than you'd ever want, really! It also has next to no sign-posting, so if you weren't using a guide (or chat) you will absolutely be flailing around at times. To it's credit: there are multiple solutions to some puzzles, though with that also comes the risk of soft-locking yourself out of success.
