Let’s Replay Action 52 (Gen) #08: When Mechanics Inadvertently Assist
89Some of the games in this collection are difficult enough in the first few levels, becoming all-but impossible later on. There are others where the difficulty is there but you can complete the levels so quickly that you barely notice it. Then there are the few games where the mechanics added in the later levels actually make it easier to complete. I doubt this was done intentionally, but with the extra amount of playtesting that this game got compared to the NES version, I’d like to think that if they were mistakes that they’d of been caught and rectified.
I’m not complaining about things being accidentally easier in some games, oh no. Most of the games are challenging enough that even getting to the middle levels is an achievement, so I’ll take any breaks the game decides to give me without questioning them. I haven’t checked back on my original let’s play of the game, but I might have completed more games in the collection this time around then before. If that’s because I got luckier or I’m actually better at the games is anyone’s guess.
