Let’s Replay Covert Action – The Ariane Files [Case 15C]
One section of our clues that I haven't been checking back to during my previous cases was the inside information. This contains things like the master plan and the active agents lists, both of which are found in floor safes. The reason I didn't check them was that I typically wrote down the useful information from the latter and the face of a participant, while handy for knowing you're investigating the right person, isn't enough to make an arrest.
Where the active list comes in real handy, however, is identifying the mastermind at work. You'll come across many names while examining filing cabinets and draws and I try my best to look them up on terminals when I can (something that's only really possible due to the difficulty level I'm playing on) to see if they're involved in the crime. When I come across someone whose role is 'unknown', that means I've found someone of interest but when that person doesn't show up on the active participants list for the organisation they're a part of, there's a good chance you've stumbled across a mastermind.
