Let’s Replay Covert Action – The Ariane Files [Case 15D]
Chasing after a mastermind at the end of a case is a very risky course of action. On the one hand, nabbing the mastermind is two hundred points towards your score and brings you one step closer to the end of the game. On the other hand, you're in danger of letting the crime go ahead if you're waylaid during your arrest efforts. This, of course, presumes that you haven't turned the major agent in the crime or confiscated a critical item to slow things down.
Investigating someone you believe to be the mastermind is a whole lot different to being handed the information by the chief due to one critical detail: you don't know for SURE that they're the mastermind which means you need to accumulate evidence. This means you either have to go into their hideout with a camera and safe cracking or hope that you stumble across enough terminals to extract the information from there. All you need is confirmation of their role in the plot, nothing else… and to arrest them, of course. Doing that with a mastermind is no easy task, as you've seen in all our past attempts to do so.
See you next case!
