It’s taken us a long time – thanks for that, Betruger – but we’ve finally reached the monorail. Some people may be tempted to let their guard down at this point, thinking that it’s going to take them straight to delta labs but things are never as simple as that. Much like everywhere else in this place, the monorail is rife with problems that aren’t being tended to any more on account of almost all the people working on them being dead, leaving us to do the work instead.

It’s interesting how quickly our character grew accustomed to fighting the strange creatures that now infest Mars City. One could argue that he’s internalising his dread but we did see him be quite surprised when he encountered an imp for the first time. Beyond that, it’s mostly been looks of mild annoyance as yet another enemy type shows up to try and ruin our day. In the end, it’s probably best not to think about it and remember that the protagonist of the previous games was just as unfazed by his situation aside from the occasional side glance.
