The closer we get to the main portal, the more demons we’ll be encountering. What’s more, the corruption that is leaking from said portal will become ever-more prevalent, leading to environments as hostile and dangerous as the creatures that inhabit them. Any people we encounter at this point are either as capable at combat as we are or hiding for their lives in a dark, forgotten corner of the excavation sites and I’m going to say now that the chances of meeting anyone that isn’t the latter now is exceptionally slim.
The one thing we no longer need to worry about is ammunition. We’ve done a fantastic job of regaining our stockpile of munitions, allowing us to use any and all weapons we have against the demons. The Soul Cube remains the best one for taking care of the most dangerous of foes but the BFG 9000 is a close second. Don’t forget about your weaker weapons, however; they often reload faster and thus are better suited to dealing with large groups of weaker enemies in enclosed spaces, allowing you to use your bigger weapons for the foes that need them without worry.
