Let’s Replay Trine 2 w/ Alienkabalien #23: Ending the Goblin Menace
Wheeze may have been confident at first that he’d gotten rid of those pesky adventurers once and for all but he’s bound to have found out that we’re right on his doorstep. The goblins he’s sent forth to stop us haven’t returned and not even the wyverns that call the place home have managed to slow our advance, meaning that soon he and the trio will be face-to-face once more. Wheeze isn’t a fighter and he doesn’t have a huge dragon to call to his side like the villain of the main game but what he does have is the secret project he’s built, a devastating contraption that is sure to spell doom not to just to the kingdom but to the world if he’s allowed to get to the surface.
If you read that last paragraph and thought ‘Gee, that sure sounds like the final boss encounter to me’, then you’d be absolutely right. It’s also a far better boss than the one in the main game, at least in my opinion, possessing multiple phases and mechanics that extend beyond the ‘dodge the fire breath and hit it hard’ tactic you need to employ against the dragon. This boss forces you to observe what its doing so you can find the weak spots to exploit and my, are there fewer of them than you’d think but find them we must if we’re to save the kingdom and Margaret.
