Let's Replay X-COM UFO Defence #02: Initial Base Setup
OpenXCOM is an open source re-implementation of the original X-COM and it changes a lot of things. Aside from quality of life things like resolution options, being able to alter volumes better and fixing bugs that were never patched out in the original versions of the game, OpenXCOM has a lot of options that let you customise the game to your liking. You can play the game entirely vanilla if you wish - minus the bug fixes - or you can alter lots of things to make playing the game a whole new experience. I've chosen to change a fair few things, in part to make this run a fresh experience and also to make it more of a challenge. Some might argue that I find the game challenging enough, but I think it's time to see if I can deal with things a little more difficult.
Aside from some explanation about OpenXCOM and the initial base setup, there's no gameplay in this video. If you want to see the first video where we start our defence of the Earth, feel free to move on to video three.
The initial videos for this let's play were recorded in one long recording session so I could maintain by uploading schedule around a family funeral. As such, any advice given cannot be acted upon until video 7.
