Let's Talk: Writing and Me – Plot

I decided upon this so you could listen to music of your choice while I talk or put it on in the background while doing other things.
In this video, we move on from talking about world building to discuss one of the other important building blocks of any work of fiction: the plot. Whether your story is about the knight’s quest to defeat a time travelling potato wizard or Fred needing to go down to the corner shop to buy a carton of milk and some eggs, your world and characters need a story to experience. Planning out and writing the story is very difficult – as most aspects of story writing are – but when it’s done well, the narrative will flow like a gentle river and carry the reader along with it. I’ll be discussing some of the important points to keep in mind when working out your plot, things to avoid doing and general advice.
